SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of multi-gigabit wireless solutions, announced that it has closed a $7M Series 2 funding round, led by Cipio Partners. BridgeWave specializes in delivering very high capacity wireless links that are used to extend LANs between buildings and sites, as well as to extend the reach of network operator fiber. "BridgeWave has demonstrated that users will adopt gigabit wireless solutions as an alternative to fiber installation when the cost or time to deploy fiber is prohibitive," said Dr. Maximilian Schroeck, Managing Partner of Cipio. "BridgeWave is well positioned to capitalize on its early market lead in this rapidly emerging market space."
"BridgeWave will use these funds to ramp manufacturing to meet the growing demand for its current product lines, and to complete its second generation product platform which will be the basis for multiple product introductions throughout 2006," explained Amir Makleff, BridgeWave's President and CEO. "Cipio's strategic and financial support has provided BridgeWave with a solid foundation to grow our business and address the needs of our expanding customer base."
