SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Boingo Wireless™ today announced it has signed a roaming agreement with Visacom to add its Wi-Fi hot spots in key airports, hotels and restaurants throughout France to the Boingo™ Roaming System.
Visacom’s fast-growing hot spot network includes more than 30 French locations from Paris to the island of Corsica. This network is a key asset for Boingo’s Platform Services program, a turnkey Wi-Fi service for service providers that also includes award-winning client software and a complete suite of back-office billing and roaming software. Current announced Platform Services partners include EarthLink, Fiberlink, Infonet Services Corp., MCI and Telecom Italia.
“Boingo is committed to grow in Europe and Visacom helps us to offer service in key high-end establishments that attract business travelers,” said Dave Hagan, Boingo president and COO. “Our expanding network provides a strong base for European telecom operators wanting to offer a Wi-Fi service. Teaming up with Visacom for a free Wi-Fi promotion at 3GSM World Congress will give both companies the opportunity to put our joint strengths on display for the entire wireless industry.”
“Visacom has built a reputation as one of the highest performing, most innovative and reliable players in the French wireless market by providing great customer care and a wide range of high-quality service offerings to its hot spot owners and users. Visacom's roaming agreement with Boingo is a key milestone in the company’s strategy to associate only with market leaders who share the same standards and which bring us greater market reach and visibility,” said Thierry Beau, Visacom president and managing director. “I look forward to working with Boingo to help promote the benefits of Wi-Fi to business users across France.”
