ZUG, Switzerland -- bmd wireless, the leading supplier of cross network messaging solutions, today announced commercial availability of the Application SMSC and High Speed Bulk Messaging Server, delivering unrivalled messaging performance and substantial cost savings to mobile operators and service providers. The Application SMSC from bmd is a powerful platform that enables operators to offload existing traffic from current SMSCs, implement new value added messaging services without impacting legacy SMS capacity and provide the highest quality of service to customers. As application-messaging traffic continues to grow, bmd’s Application SMSC overcomes many technical challenges that operators face such as capacity, scalability, load sharing and efficient routing of messages. The Application SMSC is a resilient solution for receiving, storing and forwarding short messages, offering the best price to performance ratio. To complement the Application SMSC, bmd has launched the High Speed Bulk Messaging Server (HSB), which enables mobile operators and service providers to send short messages to a large base of mobile users in real time. The HSB delivers messages directly to the destination mobile using SS7 and only uses existing SMSCs when a message cannot be sent on the first delivery attempt. The HSB is the first messaging platform in the world offering a throughput of up to 20,000 messages per second for high volume broadcast and timely application services.“We designed and developed the Application SMSC and HSB by closely working with mobile operators and service providers to fully incorporate all features and functionality that exceed customer expectations and deliver proven performance. These platforms address current and future market needs and serve as a business tool to increase data revenues and differentiate service offerings,” said Marc Woog, CTO of bmd wireless.BMD Wireless AG
