Bluesocket Unveils Kit
Bluesocket introduces BlueSecure product family including zero-configuration, access points and a centralized RF sensor
May 3, 2005
LAS VEGAS -- Bluesocket, Inc. (www.bluesocket.com), the leader in open wireless security and management solutions, today announced that it is launching a new product family - BlueSecure - at Networld+Interop that includes new access points that require zero-configuration, and the industry's first centralized RF sensor. With these new products, Bluesocket is able to expand its reach and offer a complete wireless local area network (WLAN) solution to enterprises. The new product launch is part of Bluesocket's strategy to bring trust and simplicity to increasingly complex wireless networks.
"Bluesocket has identified a growing market need and enhanced its existing product base to meet the challenges facing today's enterprises," said Craig Mathias, a Principal with the mobile and wireless advisory firm Farpoint Group (Ashland, MA). "They've always been a leader in wireless-LAN security, and BlueSecure is their most comprehensive offering yet. WLAN security remains a key requirement in any enterprise solution, and increasingly, even in networks without users."
BlueSecure Complete WLAN Solutions
The complete product set meets trust boundary requirements including secure guest access, universal authentication, granular user role and policy enforcement, co-existence with heterogeneous environments, intrusion detection and auto-quarantine and IDS/IPS for the RF infrastructure. These features are delivered across four networking layers: User, RF, Access and Management.
A complete IDS/IPS system made up of centralized sensors, distributed sensors and AP/sensor combos is available only from Bluesocket for a customized solution. Later this year, Bluesocket will be integrating sensors into the access points to further simplify the deployment and security of WLAN systems.
Next-generation, zero-configuration access points (APs) extend trust and simplicity to the wireless edge. Simplified deployment reduces OpEx and frees up IT resources, regardless of the infrastructure deployment model.
A centralized management system provides provisioning, fault and configuration management of distributed Bluesocket environments include controllers, IPS & APs for easy and cost-effective administration.
Bluesocket Secure Mobility Matrix APIs allow for the industry?s first cooperation with infrastructure services and applications and enable seamless roaming as users move across multiple subnets security. The APs also have the capability to communicate for security, role and policy and allow for network-aware applications that would benefit from infrastructure, location and role policy information.
"Our new portfolio was developed as a result of customer and market feedback on the need to meet increasingly demanding trust boundary requirements," said Ralph Calistri, CEO of Bluesocket. "Bluesocket will continue to be a leader in the WLAN market because our products are based on open standards, as they always have been. We are delivering on our promise to bring maximum choice to our customers."
