ST. AUGUSTINE, FL -- BitRage Inc., developer of Digital Signal Processor (DSP), Radio Frequency (RF) and Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) technology, today announced that the company has signed a manufacturing and distribution strategic alliance with Central Global Telecom (CGT) of Wuhan, China, a provider of communications equipment in the People’s Republic of China. BitRage expects the new 5.8 GHz radio to receive SRRC (the Chinese regulatory commission) regulatory certification by this fall, and anticipates that with this new agreement, significant sales will be realized during its first year of introduction. This strategic alliance will enable CGT to deliver high-speed broadband wireless solutions to Telco’s and private businesses throughout China. In addition, CGT’s customers will be able to benefit from improved network capabilities, high reliability, and greater bandwidth. This agreement comes as a result of a successful showing of the radio earlier this month at the MegaPort-100 Symposium held in Wuhan, China. BitRage and CGT previewed the company’s new 5.8 GHz, 100 Mbps point-to-point radio to many of the major wireless carriers and users at the Symposium. Masahiro Tabuchi, Vice President Engineering, and David Wang PHD, Chief Executive Officer of CGT jointly conducted the technical presentation at the Symposium, allowing the product to be previewed to the attendees. The response was very enthusiastic and several orders and leads were generated at the event. “The market in China shows a lot of opportunity at present, and this is an exciting channel for BitRage. We are the first company to introduce to the Chinese market a product that transmits this amount of bandwidth using the 5.8 GHz frequency. The MegaPort technology offers state-of-the-art technology with user definable features and expansion capability,” said Tabuchi. In addition, an event article placed in the August 8th issue of the People’s Post and Telecom, the official newspaper of MII of China, called the technology the first “Wireless Fiber” product at the newly opened 5.8 Ghz frequency range, and noted that the SRRC commission confirmed that the CGT/BitRage radio is the first of its kind. “The enthusiasm shown by the more than 30 major Telco and private companies, including China Telecom, China Netcom, China Mobile and China Unicom attending the symposium was very encouraging,” added Tabuchi.Jim Dionne, Chief Executive Officer of BitRage, stated that this strategic alliance combines BitRage’s leadership in designing wireless technology with CGT’s strength in marketing innovative network solutions to the growing China marketplace. “We look forward to our relationship with CGT. They are keen to extend high-speed broadband access across China and discover new opportunities in MTU applications. BitRage is fortunate to have an alliance with such a fast expanding partner company like CGT,” adds Dionne. BitRage Inc.
