NEW DELHI, India -- Bharti Telesoft, the leading global supplier of core Value Added Services (VAS) platforms for wireless and wireline carriers, today secured its 25th order for the Short Message Service Center (SMSC) from Airtel, India’s leading GSM operator, to become the leading vendor of SMSC solutions for the operator. Bharti Telesoft secured the 25th SMSC contract from Airtel Chennai. With this deployment, the total number of Bharti Telesoft’s global SMSC installations span 40 networks in 7 countries.

The mobile messaging market in India is experiencing dramatic growth due to improved user familiarity with SMS and increasing uptake of exciting transaction and infotainment-based content services. Bharti Telesoft’s SMSC is a flexible, scalable solution that will support the rapid deployment of new, innovative SMS-based applications while handling high volumes of traffic throughout the network. Equipped with powerful features, including advanced delivery and traffic handling mechanisms, Bharti Telesoft’s SMSC optimizes quality of service by reducing latency and significantly improving throughput. This enables networks to cope with the constantly growing messaging needs of the future.

In the fiscal year 2005-2006, Bharti Telesoft generated over 5% of revenues from its SMSC solution and with new client wins in the current fiscal year, SMSC’s contribution to total revenues will be even higher in 2006-2007.
