Clearwire announced a distribution agreement with Best Buy, the nation’s number-one consumer electronics retailer

KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Clearwire Corporation, a high-speed wireless broadband Internet service provider led by telecommunications pioneer Craig McCaw, announced today a distribution agreement with Best Buy, the nation’s number-one consumer electronics retailer. Best Buy plans to offer Clearwire’s service in select Best Buy locations across the United States.

Clearwire will be available at participating Best Buy locations beginning Oct. 30, 2005.

“We are pleased that a premier national retailer such as Best Buy has decided to work with us and will integrate our service into their suite of offerings,” said Perry Satterlee, COO of Clearwire. “Our relationship will make it easier for Internet users to acquire Clearwire’s simple, fast and affordable wireless broadband Internet service.”

“Our relationship with Clearwire takes our assortment of high-speed Internet offerings to a whole new level by providing customers with a broadband wireless solution they can use as soon as they get home from our store,” said Wendy Fritz, vice president overseeing subscription services for Best Buy. “We expect Clearwire’s simple plug-and-play approach for the consumer will help differentiate Best Buy as the superior retailer of high-speed Internet solutions, both in the home, at the office and on the go.”
