Bermai Adds to Headcount
Bermai, developer of 802.11 wireless chipsets, appoints R. Kyle Martin as Sales VP and Michael Schwartz as VP of engineering

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Bermai, Inc., pioneer of high performance, ultra-integrated chipsets for Wi-Fi applications from wireless LAN to wireless multimedia, today announced the appointment of R. Kyle Martin as vice president of Sales, and Michael Schwartz as vice president of Engineering. Martin is focused on Bermai's strategic relationships with partners and customers world-wide, and Schwartz is responsible for leading the development and production of Bermai's innovative wireless technology. Both executives report to president and CEO, Bruce Sanguinetti.

Michael Schwartz comes to Bermai with over two decades of experience from National Semiconductor. In engineering management since 1983, Schwartz helped start the Wireless Communications Group at National that grew to over $200M a year in sales. During his career, he has led design teams in high performance CMOS and BiCMOS products, and overseen the development of ICs for DECT, GSM, and CDMA handsets from concept to production of millions of units per month. Schwartz holds a BSEE, Summa Cum Laude, from Syracuse University in New York, and studied post-graduate at Santa Clara University, specializing in IC Engineering.
R. Kyle Martin joins Bermai with 19 years of experience in wireless telecommunications and a strong history of winning RF IC business at multi-billion dollar foreign and domestic companies. Martin's background consists of 15 years of international business experience in sales, marketing and business development, plus four years of RF circuit design experience as a Sr. Electrical Engineer. Previously, as vice president of Worldwide Sales for Ditrans, a start-up developing CDMA RF transceivers, Martin built a sales infrastructure from the ground up in the U.S., Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan. He has also held senior semiconductor sales positions at Silicon Wave and Infinesse Corporation (acquired by MicroSemi), as well as design engineering positions with Ford Aerospace and Harris Farinon. Martin has a Masters in Business Administration from UCLA's Anderson School and M.S.E.E./B.S.M.E. degrees from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
