FREMONT, Calif. -- BaySpec, Inc., a leading developer of advanced optical components and modules to the optical networking and test & measurement industry, today announced strategic partnerships and volume orders with major equipment manufacturers in providing BaySpec’s high-performance OEM OSA Spectrometer Engines covering both C- and L-band. Initial shipment was made this week to meet the customer’s tight delivery schedule.BaySpec’s IntelliGuardTM OSA Spectrometer Engine is an integrated module that consists of optics and high-speed electronics, based on its proprietary VPG technology and patented optical design. The 50 GHz 160-channel modules facilitate simultaneous measuring of 80 channels in the C-band and 80 channels in the L-band, providing rapid channel identification, and non-intrusive wavelength, power and OSNR measurements within 25 ms. A dynamic range of 60 dB, and OSNR of 25 dB are guaranteed. The module delivers an absolute wavelength accuracy of ±20 pm, spectral resolution of 50 pm, and channel power accuracy of ±0.5 dB for both bands. Further the module is completely athermal, without the need of active temperature control, and power consumption for PCB is less than 2 Watts. BaySpec Inc.
