WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Band-X Ltd., the leading market for trading telecommunications capacity, today announced the acquisition of Washington, D.C.-based TeleGeography, Inc., the leading publisher of statistics and analysis on international telecommunications. The two companies will build on TeleGeography's independent research, and Band-X's market-generated data, to develop an information business producing a new range of print, online and database products covering worldwide trends in telecommunications traffic, pricing and infrastructure. TeleGeography will continue to produce its existing publications and form the heart of a separate Band-X publications group headed by TeleGeography President, Jason Kowal.

"By tapping into TeleGeography's unparalleled global reputation and experience we are advancing our long-term vision of building the world's open telecoms market. This will enable buyers and sellers to make purchasing decisions based on rapidly accessible and authoritative information and analysis," said Marcus de Ferranti, Band-X Chairman.
