ArrowSpan is introducing the newest addition to its metro WiFi portfolio
April 23, 2007
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- ArrowSpan Inc., a global provider of Wi-Fi mesh solutions, is introducing the newest addition to its metro Wi-Fi portfolio. The MeshAP 3100 is the fastest mesh network in the market achieving 30Mbps at the fifth hop during an aggressive TCP test. The MeshAP node is a Triple RF mesh access point, which uses a dedicated 802.11g radio for client connection and dual 802.11a as a backhaul connection, and it is able to boost the signal strength to 200m (656ft) in open space.
“With this breaking throughput achievement, not only does the MeshAP 3100 extend the hop count further, but it also provides the user with the most dependable mesh network around,” said Max Lu, President/CEO of ArrowSpan. “The MeshAP 3100 is ideal for metropolitan and rural areas looking to improve productivity, increase safety and encourage economic development. This product can provide all of the above at an affordable price. It’s a cost-effective alternative to wired technology.”
The 200mW (23dBm) access point offers users the ability to rapidly deploy a dependable wireless network in large geographical areas. The MeshAP 3100 supports WEP and WPA to provide maximum security for the backhaul connection and protect the entire mesh network from hackers.
The MeshAP 3100 is designed for communities large or small to deliver broadband services. Each node supports high-bandwidth and low latency applications, and implements layer 2 mesh routing, providing excellent network performance. The access point consists of a weatherproof enclosure with an industrial grade temperature support -40°F to 131°F (-40°C to 55°C) that can withstand wind, rain, and extreme temperatures. ArrowSpan’s multiple wireless path design for both backhaul and user traffic, eliminates adjacent AP signal interference and provides zero performance degradation. The MeshAP 3100 will be available online at http://www.arrowspan.com May 2007.
