PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Apigee, the API company, today announced a version of the company's leading API platform designed for Software-Defined Networking (SDN) environments. Apigee now delivers the robust API management required to build, manage and scale applications for the programmable datacenter. Apigee's SDN solution comprises embeddable API management software for providers of SDN controllers and a standalone platform for network management, integration, and analytics. With Apigee, networking providers can make their SDN controllers easier to program and manage, and datacenter operators can create analytics-driven network policies and more easily manage heterogeneous SDNs.

"Software-defined networking is creating an important new era of networking innovation that will be defined and driven by APIs," said Chet Kapoor, Apigee CEO. "The ecosystem of apps being built around SDN – everything from simple task automation to advanced control logic and network management – will create more agile, efficient, flexible, and robust networking configurations.”
