Aperto announces it will offer indoor self-install WiMax kit in the first quarter of 2006

MILPITAS, Calif. -- Aperto Networks, a leading WiMAX systems provider serving over 200 operators in 65 countries, announced today the availability in the first quarter of 2006 of its indoor, self-install WiMAX broadband wireless products for consumers.

Aperto Networks’ intuitive, simple-to-install WiMAX customer premise equipment (CPE) feature the latest advancements in chip, radio, and antenna technologies. The products will facilitate the broadband wireless access to consumers of a wide range of services, such as video, data and voice, including VOIP. It ushers in an era in which consumers will now have the choice of wireless broadband as a viable, affordable alternative to DSL or cable.

“The introduction of Aperto Networks’ indoor, self-install consumer CPE products is an important milestone for Aperto Networks and underscores our commitment to our customers to be the first to market with the most proven, technically advanced WiMAX products,” said Manish Gupta, vice president of marketing and alliances.

The IEEE 802.16-2004 standards-compliant products, designed to allow simple self-installation and intuitive configuration management, will be marketed as the PM500 series product line, within Aperto Networks’ PacketMAX(TM) product family.
