MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:NETL), the leader in the design and development of knowledge-based processors, today announced that its NL6000 knowledge-based processor family has been selected for ALAXALA Networks’ recently announced AX6300S and AX6700S 10 Gigabit Switches. The NL6000 series was selected due to its high performance, large database capacity, small package footprint and the industry’s lowest power consumption. ALAXALA Networks is a joint venture of the switching and routing divisions of Hitachi, Ltd. and NEC Corporation, and is a leading provider of backbone routers/switches for telecom carriers, government and public sectors, and large corporate networks. These new systems from ALAXALA provide enhanced performance, reliability and scalability for next generation enterprise and service provider networks.
“NetLogic Microsystems continues to leap ahead of its competition by designing and delivering knowledge-based processors with higher performance, lower power, and richer features,” said Hiroyuki Wada, president and chief executive officer of ALAXALA. “We have been deploying our AX7800, AX7700 and AX5400 series of routers and switches with NetLogic Microsystems’ NL5000 generation knowledge-based processor because it was the only solution that offered the performance necessary for us to support IPv6 at 10G. The NL6000 knowledge-based processor now doubles the performance of NL5000 while reducing the power by half, therefore making it a clear choice for our latest AX6300S and AX6700S platforms.”
