REDMOND, Wash. -- Shattering the mobile usability barrier, Action Engine Corporation, the mobile application platform leader, today announced the launch of the Action Engine Developer Network, a software development program designed to encourage independent software vendors and developers to build applications for the Action Engine Mobile Application Platform™. Applications that run on the Action Engine Mobile Application Platform allow wireless subscribers to access content with 80% fewer keystrokes and achieve 20x faster response times than with browser-based applications.

Action Engine will provide its Software Development Kit, training, marketing, and sales support to developers seeking to participate in the program. With the Action Engine Software Development Kit, Action Engine certified partners will be able to rapidly develop feature-rich mobile applications at a fraction of the cost of building native applications. The upcoming Software Development Kit release will include features, such as an application distribution store for selling direct to consumers, application catalogs for selling to network operators, and device emulators for developing solutions on a variety of handsets.

“The launch of the Action Engine Developer Network invites developers to create mobile applications that are both easy to develop and profitable to deploy,” said Scott G. Silk, president and chief executive officer at Action Engine. “Through this program, we will offer operators an expanded suite of mobile applications that will drive increased usage and data services revenue.”
