A Nokia sale of mobile, especially to the US, would be nuts

ABI announced the launch of a new database as part of its RFID Research Service
April 27, 2006
OYSTER BAY, N.Y. -- ABI Research today announced the launch of a new database as part of its RFID Research Service. The RFID Tag IC Market Sizing Database provides aggregated shipment data reported by leading RFID IC manufacturers worldwide. The database, which is updated quarterly and may be searched by subscribers to the Service, segments these shipments by quarter, by frequency, and by standard.
Erik Michielsen, Director of ABI Research's RFID and M2M research practice, describes the new database as representing a strategic step forward. "It provides a fundamental understanding of where the market stands today, and gives us a better understanding of supply and demand dynamics as we forecast the market over the next three to five years."
The database was built in collaboration with leading global silicon manufacturers. "By putting their trust in ABI Research," notes Michielsen, "they helped create a much-needed, extremely detailed body of information focused specifically on the RFID marketplace. Semiconductor industry associations may be able to provide tracking information for chips, but not with this level of detail."
