3SAE Unveils Stripper
3SAE Technologies introduces the AutoStrip, the industry's first automatic optical fiber window stripping unit
July 30, 2002
BOSTON -- 3SAE Technologies, Inc. introduces The AutoStrip - the industry's first automatic optical fiber window stripping unit. The AutoStrip is a pioneering new product breakthrough for many optical manufacturers including Fiber Bragg gratings manufacturers and Fused fiber coupler makers. The AutoStrip accomplishes the difficult and potentially hazardous task of removing a section of the fiber's coating (80/250/400 um) without causing any damage or leaving residue on the fiber's bare glass. 3SAE eliminates the need for dangerous hot acid baths to strip and clean optical fibers at very high strength. At the touch of a button, the AutoStrip unit automatically adjusts to a specified strip length (2 mm up to 150 mm) and completes the window stripping process leaving the fiber at near virgin strength (approximately 750 Kpsi). Developed by industry experts in Sweden and the US - The results are precision high speed, high yield and greater throughput. Its compact, bench-top design is ideal for all optical manufacturing applications. The AutoPrep is PC controllable, making it simple to operate and program. A built in state-of-the-art tensile strength linear pull tester make it an effective solution for today's cost conscious optical manufacturing factories, R&D laboratories and contract manufacturers. 3SAE Technologies Inc.
