SAN JOSE, Calif. -- 2Wire, a provider of broadband service delivery platforms, today announced it has acquired Kenati Technologies, a provider of home networking software products and services.
With the acquisition, 2Wire will assume Kenati's significant portfolio of intellectual property. This provides an immediate expansion of 2Wire's existing portfolio of products and services, while improving time to market for next-generation managed digital home media and home services applications designed for telecom operators.
The acquisition of Kenati also provides 2Wire with the addition of a proven team of skilled software developers, located in both Silicon Valley and in Pune, India. This continues 2Wire's rapid expansion to meet increasing demand for its end-to-end integrated broadband solutions.
"Telecommunication providers are ideally positioned to be the primary integrators of personal media and entertainment services, providing a complete platform for managed digital media networking," said Pat Romano, president & CEO of 2Wire. "As our telco partners move to seize this opportunity, the demand for 2Wire products and services continues to grow at a rapid pace. With this acquisition, we are supplementing our portfolio to satisfy this increasing demand."
