more girls in STEM...
I vaguely recall that encouraging more girls to study STEM majors had little effect on their careers after college. It seems that what you study for your college major isn't really that important to your career.

I think the way to get more women into tech is to actually to make it easier for all employees (male or female) to raise kids... if it didn't matter what industry you were in, and you could get parental support, paid time off, childcare, etc, etc... I think women would be more mobile in their careers -- and would choose tech.
