NEW YORK -- Light Reading (www.lightreading.com), the market-leading online community for the global communications sector, has strengthened its editorial team with two key additions and the creation of a new role within the team.

Following Light Reading's very successful 2014, experienced telecom industry editor and analyst Iain Morris has joined the team as News Editor. In addition to strengthening the team in Europe, London-based Morris will be responsible for managing Light Reading's daily news cycle, starting with the key developments coming from the Asia-Pacific region and the latest from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

With the appointment of a News Editor, Light Reading's Sarah Thomas (formerly Reedy) has taken on the newly created and complementary role of Editorial Operations Director, effective immediately. Thomas, who has been with Light Reading for almost five years, will oversee the day-to-day creation and planning of the editorial content that supports the daily news, including Prime Reading features, infographics, slideshows, reader surveys/polls and much more. Thomas will continue to report and write news and blog reports as part of her new role.

To help maintain its industry-leading editorial quality, Light Reading has also strengthened its copy desk team with the addition of Calif.-based Eryn Leavens, who has more than three years of experience checking and fine-tuning online content for a number of technology-related publications. Leavens will work closely with copy desk chief Paul Rainford and Thomas to ensure the highest standards of written, pictorial and video content.

"I'm very excited to welcome Iain and Eryn to the team and to have Sarah performing a vital role in our bigger and even better team," stated Light Reading Editor-in-Chief Ray Le Maistre. "Iain brings fantastic editorial experience, industry knowledge and great contacts to Light Reading and is our first Blackburn Rovers fan on the Light Reading squad. Sarah will be able to use her industry knowledge and organizational abilities to ensure we have a compelling mix of editorial content to complement the news coverage. Eryn will play a vital role in ensuring we have the best editorial in the business around the clock."
