BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Christopher Formant, senior vice president and group president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, has named Vic Bhagat as Chief Information Officer of Verizon Enterprise Solutions.

In his new role, Bhagat will drive technology strategy and align IT with corporate objectives across Verizon Enterprise Solutions. Bhagat will focus on bringing a new level of efficiency to the enterprise unit as it accelerates its effort on delivering the best customer experience in the industry. In addition, Bhagat’s team will design and deliver the next-generation of integrated enterprise communications solutions that will provide incremental value to clients in an agile, trusted manner.

As a 30-year industry veteran, Bhagat most recently served as the executive vice president and chief information officer for EMC, where he was responsible for leading their IT transformation and overseeing their global centers of excellence that led to the delivery of IT as a service. He also provided leadership for EMC’s technology services and support to optimize enterprise processes and enable global sales.

Prior to his role at EMC, Bhagat served at GE for more than 20 years, where he was CIO for multiple organizations, including GE Aviation Services, GE Global Growth and Operations, CNBC, GE Corporate, and GE India and Southeast Asia.
