LONDON -- Bulldog Communications, winner of the ISPA Best Consumer Broadband Service ISP Award 2004, today set the broadband market alight by offering its PrimeTime 500 service for just £15.99 (inc VAT) a month. With this price-point PrimeTime 500 is the lowest priced standard (512 kbps) broadband service in the UK, and arguably the lowest priced broadband package of any type in the UK (Source: ADSLGuide.org.uk). What's more, it's a service that offers a true broadband experience with up to 512kbps performance.

PrimeTime 500 addresses the needs of budget-conscious dial-up users who want to upgrade to standard broadband but are unwilling to pay a typical £20+ monthly broadband fee. Customers enjoy up to 10 times the speed of standard dial-up, enabling fast access to, and downloading of, information, an always-on Internet connection, and the ability to use the phone line at the same time as surfing the Internet.

Richard Greco, Bulldog’s CEO commented “As more and more consumers, particularly dial-up users join the broadband revolution, other service providers are selling services packaged as 'broadband' that deliver speeds only 3 or 5 times the speed of dial-up i.e., 150kbps or 256kbps. With our £15.99 price-point Bulldog delivers a true broadband experience up to 512 kbps - in other words, real broadband, at real value.”

PrimeTime 500 offers a unique ‘time-of-day’ feature, providing downstream speeds up to 512 kbps during peak times and 256 kbps during off-peak hours, with up to 256 kbps upstream speed all day, every day. Bulldog’s PrimeTime provides residential customers with the highest speeds when they need them, i.e., weekday evenings (6pm-8am), all weekend and Public Holidays. During weekdays (8am – 6pm) customers still enjoy broadband with up to 256 kbps downstream speeds.

As PrimeTime 500 is designed for light Internet users, there is a 2 GB download limit per month. This is twice the download amount offered with the BT Basic Broadband service. Customers who approach the download limit will receive a notification email from Bulldog, with the opportunity to moderate usage (to avoid a £5 fee for exceeding the monthly limit), or to upgrade to a higher bandwidth service.
