BSkyB Picks Silverlight

• BSkyB Group will use Microsoft's Silverlight for its new online video subscription service, Sky Player TV, which will allow customers to view live and on-demand streaming video of Sky programming on their PCs.
  
  
• RealNetworks and Brightcove are the latest online video companies to cut personnel. RealNetworks is cutting 130 employees, or about 7.5 percent of its staff, while Brightcove is losing 25 of its 172.
