Brocade Communications Systems Inc. and startup A10 Networks Inc. have settled their lawsuit, the companies announced Tuesday. Terms weren't disclosed. Why this matters
Settlements are the way these patent battles typically end, with each side getting some rights to the other's technology. (More properly: They agree to stop suing each other over what each one considers its own technology.) This gives A10 and its customers some closure, as it removes the overhang of the lawsuit and the injunction that Brocade won earlier this year -- although A10 pointed out at the time that it already had a way around that injunction.
