BroadLogic Lands $20 Million in Funding

BroadLogic Network Technologies, a supplier of semiconductor chipsets to the broadband industry, has secured $20 million in venture capital from Time Warner, Cisco Systems, Intel Capital, Rho Ventures and several other major investors. Based in Silicon Valley, BroadLogic designs chipsets for cable modems, digital cable set-top boxes, digital video recorders (DVRs) and other devices. Besides leading the latest investment round for BroadLogic, Time Warner will take a seat on BroadLogic's board of directors. Mike Hayashi, senior vice president of advanced engineering and subscriber technologies for Time Warner Cable, will represent the MSO. Rho Ventures will also gain a board seat. Mark Leschly, managing partner of Rho, will represent his company. The other investors joining in the Series C round of financing include August Capital, CDIB Venture Management, Levensohn Venture Partners, Presidio Venture Partners and Walden International.
