SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of gigabit wireless solutions, and REMEC Broadband Wireless International, Inc. (RBWI), a leading manufacturer of wireless modules and systems, today announced that RBWI will take-on turn-key volume production of BridgeWave’s 60 GHz and 80 GHz product lines. This agreement will enable BridgeWave to meet the growing demands of its current customer base as well as position the company to address emerging mobile operator requirements for gigabit backhaul solutions, as 4G mobile technology rollouts commence in 2009.

BridgeWave, with a 72 percent share of the fast-growing gigabit wireless link segment, according to EJL Wireless Research’s 2007 market report, has successfully deployed thousands of gigabit radios worldwide into enterprise, government and fixed operator applications. With expected sales growth into the tens of thousands of radios within the next several years, BridgeWave has turned to RBWI to ensure that production volumes will track mobile operator demand for ultra high capacity 4G wireless backhaul solutions.

“RBWI offers BridgeWave an ideal combination of high frequency technical capabilities coupled with an established track record of delivering high-volume products into the mobile wireless space,” said Elad Peleg, vice president of operations at BridgeWave. “RBWI has already proven their ability to meet demanding quality targets manufacturing our millimeter-wave radio transceiver modules, and we plan to transition full turn-key system manufacturing responsibilities to them by fourth quarter of 2008.”
