The FiOS Effect II

10:45 AM -- One Touch Intelligence , the folks who recently analyzed how cable and satellite ops are faring in their war against Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ)'s FiOS platform in Massachusetts, now point out that Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) has been doing some analysis of its own.

Cablevision spelled out in a proxy filing that FiOS could cost the MSO as much as $383 million in lost cashflow in a worst-case scenario, if Verizon is able to achieve 25 percent penetraton from a fiber-fed network passing 3.2 million homes that also overbuild Cablevision's plant.

One Touch also notes that the MSO published the analysis at the request of a committee that's reviewing the company's plan to go private. Cablevision shareholders are scheduled to vote on the proposal the morning of October 24, 2007. (See Cablevision Sets Shareholder Vote .)
