Embedded service mediation management framework supports scalable, secure management
May 4, 2009
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Telco Systems, a BATM company (LSE: BVC) and a leading provider of Carrier Ethernet access solutions has introduced BiNOS™ Service Mediator, an innovative approach to ease the management, operations and maintenance of Ethernet CPE devices.
BiNOS Service Mediator is a distributed software solution that is embedded in the Company’s T-Marc™ Ethernet demarcation devices and T5C-XG aggregation switches. It extends the Company’s multi-lateral management strategy by operating as either a standalone product or interworking with BiNOSCenter™ NG management software. BiNOS Service Mediator automates IP management to make the network more secure and scalable.
Several Telco Systems’ customers have standardized on mediation management to monitor customer end points. According to Mark Eagle, Director of Commercial Engineering for Time Warner Cable, “Telco Systems’ Service Mediator technology allows Time Warner to manage the edge device and to control bandwidth, count packets, provision bandwidth requirements as needed -- without routing or entering customer IP space. This allows us to provide improved levels of security and service quality while offering all the benefits of Carrier Ethernet to our customers.”
