Riverbed appoints Cisco veteran Marcus Chambers as VP for the EMEA region

SAN FRANCISCO -- Riverbed Technology, the performance leader in application acceleration on wide area networks, announced today that it has appointed Marcus Chambers as vice president, EMEA. Chambers will drive growth across the EMEA region as Riverbed continues to expand its global operations and builds on its already strong success in the wide-area data services (WDS) market.

"His many years of experience in the storage and networking area and strong relationships with enterprises, service providers and channel partners throughout EMEA will help ensure that Riverbed achieves its ambitious goals for the region."

Chambers has more than 18 years of experience in the IT industry, and comes to Riverbed with a proven track record of providing storage and networking solutions to the enterprise and service provider markets. He was previously the operations director for Cisco Systems EMEA's Storage, Optical and Wide Area File Services (WAFS) Group, where he was responsible for sales, marketing and channels to grow the SAN storage, optical and WAFS business across EMEA. Prior to joining Cisco in 2003, Chambers was European Northern regional director for Brocade. He also developed 3COM's business in Switzerland as general manager, and prior to this he held positions with Digital Equipment Corporation.
