Occam adds GPON to its BLC 6000 system

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Occam Networks® Inc. (NASDAQ: OCNW), aleading broadband access supplier, today added powerful GPON to its BLC 6000 system. At thecenter of Occam’s GPON is the Occam Packet Engine, developed specifically to support themassive Ethernet and IP processing that Triple Play networks will require. Using this chip, asingle OLT blade switches packets at a multigigabit per second rate, performs deep packetinspection on millions of packets per second, manages 2,048 data streams, and delivershardware-based QoS, security, and multicast management. Occam currently projects the newproducts to be available in Q1 2008, with the exception of the ON 2445, which is anticipated inQ2 2008.
