SEOUL -- North American carriers can more easily and cost-effectively deliver end-user Internet services at up to 1Gbps after LG-Nortel, the joint venture of LG Electronics and Nortel* [OTC: NRTLQ], signed a reseller agreement to distribute its WDM-PON Ethernet Access solutions across the continent through solutions provider Telamon.

A leading provider of telecommunications solutions to North American businesses, Telamon will distribute LG-Nortel's range of Ethernet Access solutions to its existing customer base and into new accounts, meeting rapidly growing demand for fiber-optic access solutions as carriers increasingly roll out fibre-to-the-business/home/basestation (FTTx) services to residential and business customers.

"Demand for FTTx services in North America is skyrocketing as customers expect more from their online lifestyles," said Gary L. Bloehs, president, Telamon. "LG-Nortel's powerful range of WDM-PON solutions will help our carrier customers meet those expectations with a fully-featured, cost-effective, end-to-end solution that enables high-volume delivery of ultra-fast Ethernet-class Internet services over fibre-optic networks."
