Broadlight Reaches Hanaro

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- BroadLight, the leading supplier of GPON semiconductors and software, and DASAN Networks, a leading supplier to the major service providers in Korea, today announced that DASAN has selected BroadLight’s end-to-end (E2E) GPON technology in their FTTH products for deployment at Hanaro Telecom planned for later this year. BroadLight’s E2E semiconductor and software solutions for OLT and ONU have enabled DASAN to successfully complete a very quick design cycle for its GPON products which have already passed Hanaro’s initial testing.

“Korea is one of the leading broadband communities in the world and Hanaro’s selection of GPON is a testament to GPON’s readiness for mass deployment,” said Didi Ivancovsky, Founder and VP of Marketing for BroadLight. “We expect GPON to ultimately become the dominant FTTH global access technology because its speed and performance meets the business demands now and for the long term of leading service providers worldwide.”
