HANOVER, Germany -- KEYMILE is expanding the broadband capacity of its multi-service access platform MileGate. New subracks now also offer a dual-star 10 GbE connection for each slot. In addition, a new core unit provides a 10 Gbps uplink for Ethernet data. As a result, MileGate is future proof for ultra broadband applications.

The compact IP/Ethernet-based multi-service access platform MileGate combines carrier grade broadband access with telephony and data interfaces. Therefore, network operators can provide powerful broadband services for residential and business customers. Ethernet capabilities of the subracks of the new generation MileGate 2510 and 2310 will be significantly increased. Every slot will be connected redundantly at 10 Gbps Ethernet. The advantage is that even with the high port density in MileGate, every single subscriber will always have enough bandwidth. Consequently MileGate is prepared for future demands, such as transmitting high-resolution 3D television, or for being a large volume FTTH/VDSL2 access point.

MileGate 2510 has 21 slots and is designed for large access points, from which hundreds of subscribers can be supplied with a wide range of voice and data services. Due to the high port density, up to 960 ADSL2plus, 640 VDSL2 or 480 optical 1 Gbps Ethernet subscriber connections can be delivered from one single 8 HE subrack. The MileGate 2310 subrack has eight slots. All MileGate platform components are particularly robust and can therefore be used in harsh ambient conditions in street cabinets.
