KRANJ, Slovenia -- End of July 2009, Iskratel, the leading supplier of the contemporary telecommunication solutions from Slovenia, and Ukrtelekom, the Ukrainian national operator, signed an agreement on an extension of the ADSL 2+ broadband access network. The first phase covers the supply of equipment and the integration of 100,000 ports within 2 successive months. The realization of the project will commence immediately after the contract. The subject matter of the agreement is the supply of SI3000 MSAN equipment for the extension of the multiservice access network.

The Ukrtelekom project foresees the installation of additional ADSL 2+ broadband access equipment in 25 towns across Ukraine, representing a total of over 650 sites within the country. The deadline for project implementation is extremely short, just 2 months. The implementation covers the supply, installation and cut-over of the equipment.

A centralized cluster management system is used in the above sites to manage the whole SI3000 MSAN-based broadband access network, and covers over 300,000 ports. Iskratel’s Management System (SI3000 MNS) is integrated into the operator’s service provisioning system, inventory system and Fault Management System.
