MUNICH -- FTTH Europe Conference 2012 -- About 3,000 FTTH professionals (faced with enough scrumptious food to feed about 6,000!) have converged on Munich's ICM conference and exhibition center on the edge of the German city to network and get the latest advice, insights and technology updates from their fiber access peers.
And while Western Europe has been slower than other parts of the world in taking up fiber access broadband services on a mass scale, that's not deterring the people here, who are well versed in (and often reminded about) the potential that FTTH can bring to their businesses and economies. (See Western Europe Still in FTTH Slow Lane and Enough FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Hype).)
We whipped out our camera and took a few shots on the show floor. Here's the first bunch of pics, which, as we are in one of the world's foremost beer-producing regions, does have a higher-than-normal alcohol content. Click on the photo below to launch the slide show.
We took the pictures and made up the captions, too, so you know who to blame.
