Huawei Strikes Again

9:30 -- There's no stopping Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (See Huawei Sets Bumper Sales Target and Heavy Reading Homes In on Huawei.)

The Chinese vendor has today announced two more deals with significant carriers.

First it landed a next generation fixed access deal with Telecom Italia (TIM) , which is testing out various fiber-access technologies and services in Milan. Huawei is supplying the Italian incumbent with its SmartAX MA5600Tand MA5606T multiservice access platforms, which include GPON and VDSL2.

The news follows Huawei's selection by BT Group plc (NYSE: BT; London: BTA) for its early GPON efforts in the U.K. (See BT Goes With Huawei for FTTH .)

Also today, Huawei landed a 3G upgrade deal with Singaporean mobile operator MobileOne Ltd. (M1) (Singapore: MONE). The vendor is providing its all-IP mobile access platform for M1's WCDMA and HSPA network upgrade.
