In its exhibit (booth #1617), Corning Cable Systems will feature its Evolant® Solutions for Access Networks, a specialized portfolio of rugged and reliable products and solutions that enable customers to rapidly and cost-effectively deploy fiber in the last mile.
Corning will also introduce its ClearCurve™ bend-insensitive optical fiber-based solution. This revolutionary product suite allows fiber to be deployed as easily as copper or coax, using standard installation techniques and eliminating the need for microduct. Visitors will be able to participate in hands-on demonstrations to experience how ClearCurve products allow them to design and deploy optical fiber cable in complex fiber-to-the-business (FTTB) and headend environments.
The exhibit will incorporate Corning Cable Systems’ solutions for wireless applications, specifically for cell site backhaul and distributed antenna systems (DAS). These products make installing fiber-to-the-tower drops faster, simpler and cheaper, and they allow backhaul providers to provide wireless carriers with scalable, flexible and transparent service.
The innovative exhibit will also contain:
- The OptiSnap™ SC APC, LC Compatible Single-Mode Field-Installable Connector, a fast, easy and reliable field termination system that is Corning Cable Systems patented. High-precision mechanical splice technology enables fiber optic networks to be installed quickly and cost effectively.
- The OptiWay® NG Series Network Interface Device (NID), the next-generation in all-plastic enclosures specifically designed to house electronic circuits for the growing FTTx and broadband access markets. This state-of-the-art NID is designed to either replace or supplement existing fiber or standard copper NIDs.
- The OptiSheath® MultiPort Terminal is designed for use in outside plant fiber access networks. This innovative terminal provides sealed environmental protection and fast, easy incremental connection of subscriber drop cables while increasing deployment velocity.
- The FlexNAP™ Terminal Distribution System consists of standard fiber optic cables upon which network access points are preterminated at customer-specified locations along the length of the cable. This field-proven, cutting-edge solution reduces installation time by more than 50 percent in the distribution segment of access networks as compared with traditional, separate component deployment of distribution cables, network access terminals and drop cables.
Attendees are invited to attend network training seminars being offered by Corning Cable Systems at booth #1617 and enter for a chance to win a free Nintendo® Wii™. The seminars will take place Wednesday, June 25 at 4:00 p.m., and Thursday, June 26 at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The seminar topics are “Fiber to the Home: A Logical Successor to HFC” and “All-Fiber Access Architectures and Deployment Methods.”
