- John Malone's pocketbook is $1.4 million dollars lighter today thanks to a penalty now due the Department of Justice. Malone is paying up to settle allegations that he violated some government reporting requirements from 2005 to 2008. But don't fret. We don't expect this will render him destitute.
- The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) : The government can just butt out. There's plenty of video competition to speak of. Please move along. Nothing to see here. And while you're at it, don't go giving satellite and telco TV providers an "unfair regulatory advantage."
- It's true! Dogs and cats can live together. Case in point: Comcast Spotlight, the ad unit of Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), has struck a five-and-a-half-year deal to sell local and regional ads for Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) FiOS TV. Spotlight also does this for the satcos.
