LEAGUE CITY, Texas -- Management at Eagle Broadband, Inc (AMEX: EAG), a national provider of broadband, Internet protocol (IP) and communications technology and services, announced today that it has signed a five-year maintenance agreement worth upwards of $1 million over the next five years with KoolConnect Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of HD and digital Video on Demand (VOD) to the upscale and luxury hospitality market.
This annually renewable maintenance agreement went into effect on May 1, 2006 and supports more than 3,000 units of Eagle's MediaPro IP5000HD set-top boxes, which have been reliably delivering high-definition television signals over an IP interface to a renowned Five-Star Las Vegas casino resort for the past year. KoolConnect's VOD solution, which utilizes the Eagle set-top box architecture, is operated by a leading provider of hotel television services to many upscale Las Vegas hotels.
"This agreement is a resounding endorsement of our high-definition, set-top box technology," said Dave Micek, president and chief executive officer of Eagle Broadband. "It positions us extremely well as we collaborate with our hospitality partners to pursue other luxury hotel opportunities in the Las Vegas marketplace."
Michael DiLeva, executive vice president and general manager of KoolConnect Technologies added: "Luxury hotels require the absolute epitome of amenities and the television solutions that they require are no exception. By utilizing Eagle Broadband's set-top box technology in our HD solution, we've been able to provide the exceptional picture quality and functionality that these discerning properties demand."
