PARIS -- Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) today announced that Ajay Pande, was recently elected to a two-year term on the Broadband Services Forum's Board of Directors. Mr. Pande is responsible for marketing Alcatel's innovative triple play applications and facilitating co-operation between Alcatel's IPTV customers and the content industry.

The Broadband Services Forum (BSF) is an industry organization that addresses the fundamental business and technology issues vital to the growth and health of the broadband industry. The BSF fosters collaboration across the broadband value chain with membership from content, service and technology providers around the world.

"For 2006 and 2007, the BSF's efforts will continue to focus on IPTV and interactive broadband services," said Ajay Pande. "As an independent association, the BSF is uniquely positioned to view the issues surrounding the adoption of new broadband services from different perspectives."
