Moundville Telephone selects Adtran for industry’s most flexible access platform to deliver FTTH, mobile backhaul and Ethernet migration

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN - News), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that Moundville Telephone Company, a leading independent service provider serving West-Central Alabama, has selected ADTRAN’s extensive broadband portfolio including the flagship Total Access® 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform (MSAP), to enhance its triple-play and high-speed Internet access service delivery. This will enable Moundville to expand the range, reach and performance of a variety of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services and upgrade existing DSL services. In addition, the service provider will also utilize the ADTRAN solution for mobile backhaul applications, enabling the transition to Ethernet transport.

Moundville Telephone Company is a progressive independent service provider in its seventh year of FTTH deployments. The company, approved by the FTTH Council as a certified FTTH operator, deploys high-speed Internet broadband service using ATM-based DSL. This existing broadband network is being transformed from ATM to IP/Ethernet.
