Boardwatch Launches OSS Brand Survey
The first step in this process is the publication of a report that takes a first stab at defining product categories and companies operating in each of these markets (see Who Makes What: OSS).
Readers are invited to dive in and propose modifications, additions and deletions -- not just to the lists of vendors but also to the categories themselves.
The goal is to repeat an exercise under way on Light Reading, where readers are helping to refine a taxonomy of telecom equipment (see Who Makes What: Equipment 2003).
Once that process is completed, we will use the categories and vendor lists as the basis for a brand awareness survey to discover how vendors are viewed by their target audience.
The results will be published later this year and will provide the framework for future Boardwatch product surveys. Over to you…
