Blockbuster on TiVo

4:30 PM -- Today on Contentinople:

  • Starting in April, Blockbuster will make 10,000 movies available to its subscribers on TiVo DVRs. "Our vision is to work with TiVo so that their subscribers can access movies not only through our OnDemand service but also from our stores and through our by-mail service as well," says Jim Keyes, Blockbuster chairman and CEO. The move could level the playing field among Blockbuster and competitors Netflix and Amazon, who also have deals with TiVo.

  • Boxee yesterday announced, not only a content partnership with Pandora Media, but also yet another workaround for Hulu's block. Boxee's new browser will mimic Firefox, making it impossible for Hulu to block Boxee without also blocking Firefox.
