5:40 PM -- Leave it to our frosty-buttocked friends at Informa to clue us in that pornography is a kind of content that people will buy… even if they own mobile phones. Note a recent press release from the analyst house:

"The key to turning erotic mobile content into a sustainable revenue stream is to adopt a responsible approach, making sure subscribers who wish to view such content are age verified and that those providers who are looking to make a quick buck are squeezed out of the equation", said Daniel Winterbottom, senior research analyst at Informa and author of the report.

Mr. Chilly Pants goes on to predict that, by 2010, there will be more than 114 million regular users of mobile adult content globally. But he doesn't say much about how he expects to get folks to admit that they're using mobile devices for such, ahem, worldly vices.

The press release then builds to a climax:

"In the adult market, the Internet has tarnished the purchase of premium content for many. However, given the close relationship between mobile operator and the consumer, and with a responsible strategy, there is no reason that this market cannot generate revenue for all in the value chain" said Winterbottom.

Whoa! First we're talking mobile porn and now he brings up value chains? I'm not even sure what that refers to, but it doesn't sound like anything I want to read about on my cellphone bill. I must buy this report at once and educate myself in the ways of the peripatetic pervert.

I wonder: Will it have pictures?
