NEW DELHI, India -- Bharti Airtel today announced an integrated structure which will be responsible for all aspects of its telecom business in India. The new organization structure is pursuant to the company’s vision announced in October last year of making Airtel, the most admired brand in India by 2010. Manoj Kohli has been appointed as the President of Bharti Airtel to lead the unified management structure of One Airtel.

Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman & Managing Director, Bharti said, “Following our refreshed vision, and to leverage synergies of being an integrated player, I am delighted to announce a new organization structure and a leadership team that will enable our organisation to take a quantum leap outpacing world-class performance parameters.”

The new structure will help us transition towards a customer focused organization while building sustainability & scalability to seamlessly manage 100 million customers and beyond. The new organization has been designed to enable strong corporate governance whilst ensuring operational freedom, through functional & matrix reporting relationships.” Mr. Mittal said

He further added “Manoj has ably served as the President Mobility and has a long standing in the Indian telecom industry. Manoj will lead a set of highly talented and competent leaders who will form a part of the Airtel President’s Office.”

Manoj Kohli will lead the Airtel Management Board which will have the overall responsibility of driving the strategy and the operational performance of Bharti Airtel. The Airtel Management Board will consist of the three joint presidents and Sarvjit Dhillon who will take over as Director Finance & Business Integration, Jai Menon, Director IT & Innovation. Hemant Sachdev will be the Director, Marketing & Communication while Don Price is being promoted as Director, Networks for Bharti Airtel.

The group corporate office of Bharti Airtel will focus on overall business strategy, provide support to the Airtel Management Board besides periodic reviews and governance. Four of the functional roles at the President’s Office, i.e. Finance, HR, Legal and Networks will have functional reporting to the Corporate Office.

Bharti Airtel will have three Joint Presidents looking after independent SBUs – Broadband & Telephone Services, Enterprise Services and Mobility. The Joint Presidents will report to Manoj.
