SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Bestel, a leading telecommunications provider in Mexico, has upgraded its national IP/MPLS backbone and broadband edge networks with Juniper Networks E- and M-series routers. The E- and M-series deliver advanced Quality of Service capabilities and superior scalability, enabling Bestel to support growing demand for its carrier-grade Voice over IP (VoIP) and multiplay service offerings with increased reliability and performance.

'With M-series in our network core and the E-series at the broadband edge, upgrading with the Juniper solution enables us to reliably deliver advanced service to our valued customers,' said Hector Carlos, Bestel's Sales and Marketing Vice President. 'After comprehensively testing many products, we concluded that Juniper offered the best solution, not only to increase performance in our backbone network, but also to enable the deployment of new broadband multiplay services.'

Bestel provides domestic and international network services to carriers, ISPs, cable companies and corporate customers. Bestel selected Juniper Networks M-series to improve the reliability and performance of its core network, and will use the E-series Broadband Services Routers to support advanced quality of service and broadband subscriber management capabilities for its new multiplay service offering.

Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Routers and M-series multiservice routing platforms together deliver a comprehensive portfolio of advanced features that uniquely combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, security and performance. Both platforms are deployed in the world's largest networks and consistently support a wide range of advanced service offerings, including IPTV, video on demand, VoIP and online gaming. Bestel's router network deployment was done in conjunction with local Juniper partner Inster.

'The quick implementation and superior performance of the E- and M-series platforms exceeded Bestel's expectations compared to the routing platform they used previously,' said Jorge Mandujano, General Manager of Inster. 'The Juniper platforms support the increasing service requirements in the backbone network and have the scale to efficiently support Bestel's emerging broadband services and multiplay offerings.'
