Vendors are expected to step up -- some more aggressively than others -- but I've spoken with companies such as Colt that say it will be years before they can take on ONAP, even though they see it as the right direction.

Market Ready - but not for all
ONAP represents an unprecendented level of cooperation amongst the major industry players and may, indeed, be ready for commercial exploitation BY THEM. But the others, whose IT shops will require major upgrades to handle ONAP - or not even have the budget to integrate it into its operations - are still several years away. Vendors will step into the gap, I hope.
