Telco and Advantech partner to deliver 40G integrated ATCA solutions

MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Telco Systems and Advantech have announced a strategic partnership to deliver integrated 40G ATCA platforms. The partnership brings Telco System's carrier-grade switching software technology and blades to Advantech's Networks and Telecom Group. These ATCA (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) solutions will enable Advantech and Telco Systems to offer Tier-1 and 2 Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) a cost-effective, high quality carrier grade solution to support next generation telecom networks.

This will help our customers overcome the capacity challenges they are facing and respond more efficiently to increasing end customer demand."

Telco Systems leverages its extensive experience in Carrier Ethernet networks to bring a carrier-grade solution to Advantech's ATCA market. Equipped with a sophisticated, field proven switching middleware layered on top of a Linux networking operating system (BINOX), the solution supports a wide range of Carrier Ethernet requirements including L2 switching and IPv4 and IPv6 routing as well as load balancing, MPLS, VPLS, telecom synchronization (IEEE1588, SyncE), protection and redundancy.

Advantech is at the leading edge of multi-core networking platform designs and manufacturing with a scalable range of blades and systems based on Network Processor, DSP and x86 architectures enabling OEMs to build breakthrough solutions for enterprise, data center and carrier networks. By leveraging its Taiwan-based design and manufacturing expertise it serves tier-1 and 2 TEMs and network equipment providers around the world with both standard and customized ATCA products.
