ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Performance Technologies (NASDAQ NM: PTIX), a leading developer of communication platforms and systems, today announced a partnership with Tekno Telecom that enhances capabilities in network monitoring, inter-carrier billing, network optimization, QoS, fraud management and revenue assurance for Performance Technologies‘ industry-leading SEGway™ STP.

Tekno Telecom partners with global telecom carriers to provide innovative and cost-effective network monitoring solutions to ensure maximum profitability and to yield a higher return on investment from the carrier’s network infrastructure. For small to mid-size carriers, the ability to accurately and definitively solve network issues with revenue business analytics not only reduces infrastructure costs, but also ensures consistent and reliable network service while maximizing profitability. Generally, carriers can realize a return on investment in as little as three to four months.

“Small and mid-size carriers need to accurately monitor and report network activity for quality, inter-carrier billing, trunking analysis and revenue assurance. These capabilities allow them to reduce network infrastructure costs and ensure quality of service, which is essential when competing with larger carriers,” said Sam Galler, vice president of marketing and sales for Tekno Telecom. “Our network management solution provides accurate quantitative, definitive inter-carrier and inter-connect usage analysis for carriers using the Performance Technologies’ SEGway STP, giving these carriers a truly complete, cost-effective solution for their network infrastructure and management needs.”

The compelling pricing, feature set, flexibility and scalability offered by Performance Technologies’ SEGway STPs make STP ownership an attractive business case for small to mid-size service providers. A pair of STPs deployed in the carrier’s network opens a wealth of opportunities for cost-effectively adding additional services like caller name identification (CNAM) and local number portability (LNP) while reducing SS7 infrastructure costs significantly. This can enable service providers to realize a return on investment in as little as twelve months.

“Combining Tekno Telecom’s monitoring and reporting services with our SEGway Mini-STP node solution gives carriers a turnkey, feature-rich product at an affordable price point,” said Don Sylvester, vice president of signaling sales for Performance Technologies. “In announcing this relationship with Tekno Telecom, our companies can provide a much more complete, high quality solution to the tier two and tier three carrier. Seamless solutions are of great value to carriers who need to move quickly to adapt to changing market pressures.”
