STOCKHOLM and SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Enea (NordicExchange/Small Cap/ENEA), a leading provider of network software andservices, today announced the availability of Element version 2.2. Thelatest version of Enea¹s proven carrier-grade middleware platform provideshigher levels of service continuity through a powerful applicationmanagement framework (AMF) that is aligned with the Service AvailabilityForum (SA Forum) AIS-AMF specification.

Carrier-grade systems must be able to deliver high availability (99.999percent or greater system uptime) without loss of service continuity.Achieving this goal requires the system to be able to maintain customer dataand session state without disruption across a wide variety of fault-recoveryscenarios. To achieve this, availability software must be able to manage allthe heterogeneous resources involved in delivering the service. In an openbuilding-block design, middleware manages all critical resources to enablecontinuity of delivered services.

For designers of telecommunication equipment who must meet carrier graderequirements Enea¹s Element is a proven high availability middlewareplatform that provides a scalable ³off-the-shelf² solution whichdramatically improves development productivity reducing time-to-market andminimizing project risk.

"With the release of Element 2.2 Enea is enabling our customers to meet theexpectations for availability and dependability while running onoff-the-shelf computing platforms." said Virginia Walker, senior vicepresident of corporate strategy and marketing at Enea. "Furthermore, ourgoal is to ensure that our customers can achieve this without having totailor their applications for each particular hardware platform."
